Berkala Arkeologi Edition No. May 1, 2003 this time featured 13 articles. These writings are the results of research from several fields of prehistoric, classical, and Islamic / colonial studies, apart from a literature studies and research socialization. From the field of prehistoric studies, we presents two writings of lithic industry studies and two writings of megalithic culture studies. The classical field features an article about the symbolic meaning of the decoration on the yoni spout and an article on the results of a laboratory analysis of bricks from the Gayatri Temple. The Islamic / colonial field presents four writings covering the results of a laboratory analysis of pottery from the Leran site, Islam and syncretism, the danger of disintegration, and the typology of Dutch tombs. Finally, we hope that these articles will be of use to the development of science in general and in the field of archaeology in particular. Suggestions and criticisms from readers are welcomed for the progress of this journal.
