Berkala Arkeogi Edition No. 2 November 2001 presents five writings from researchers at the Puslit Arkenas and one from the teaching staff of the Department of Anthropology, Universitas Airlangga. The six writings cover various fields of study: prehistory, classical and Islamic. Three prehistoric writings take the topic of lithic artifact technology, an article on traditional communication media, an article about a classic relic that existed during the development of the Islamic era (the Demak kingdom), and an article on the typology of mosque roofs that developed in South Kalimantan. It is hoped that the articles contained in this edition will provide new insights into the development of science in general, and archaeology in particular. Finally, it is hoped that in future editions the thoughts of researchers from other institutions will fill this journal.
